Bali, hainews.id – Kepala Staf Kepresidenan (KSP) Moeldoko mengatakan bahwa proyek PLTA Kayan Cascade, Kalimantan Utara adalah sebuah era baru dari proses produksi energi di Indonesia.
Menurutnya, PLTA Kayan Cascade adalah bukti jika Indonesia mampu berkegiatan produktif yang sejalan dengan prinsip-prinsip ramah lingkungan. “Ini adalah sejarah dan jawaban masa depan,” ujarnya usai memberikan sambutan dalam acara The Signing Ceremony of Principles Agreement for Project Cooperation Related to Energy Transition between PLN and Sumitomo Corporation yang digelar di sela-sela perhelatan G20 di Hotel Intercontinental Sanur Denpasar, Minggu (13/11).
Hadir dalam acara tersebut, Kepala KSP Moeldoko, Direktur Utama PLN Darmawan Prasodjo, Presiden Direktur Sumitomo Corporation Masayuki Hyodo, Duta Besar Jepang untuk Indonesia Kenji Kanasugi, dan Kepala Perwakilan Sumitomo di Indonesia Eko Hadipermana. Adapun dari PT Kayan Hydro Energy (KHE) hadir Direktur Utama Andrew Suryali.
Sebagai informasi, PLTA Kayan Cascade berkapasitas 9.000 Megawatt dengan nilai investasi total 17,8 miliar dollar AS. Fasilitas terbaru ini nantinya bakal mengakselerasi niatan pemerintah Indonesia dalam Paris Agreement dan CPOP26 terkait ekonomi hijau.
“Desember nanti kita groundbreaking,” tegasnya. Lebih lanjut, Moeldoko juga menyampaikan jika PLTA Kayan Cascade adalah salah satu bagian penting dari pemerintahan Presiden Jokowi. Pasalnya, fasilitas infrastruktur ini adalah proyek investasi terbesar di hampir 10 tahun belakangan. “Ini akan menjadi legacy dari pemerintahan Pak Jokowi,” tutup dia.
PLTA Kayan Cascade berkapasitas 9000 Megawatt dengan nilai investasi total 17,8 miliar dollar AS ini juga merupakan bentuk nyata dari dukungan terhadap komitmen pemerintah Indonesia dalam Paris Agreement dan CPOP26 terkait ekonomi hijau.
Seperti diketahui, Pemerintah Indonesia telah berkomitmen dalam mempercepat transisi energi. Selain mematok target bauran energi dari Energi Baru Terbarukan (EBT) sebesar 23 persen pada 2025, Presiden Joko Widodo juga menegaskan komitmen Indonesia dalam pemenuhan Net Zero Emission (NZE) pada tahun 2060 atau lebih cepat.
Proyek PLTA Kayan Cascade ini sudah berjalan sejak 2011. Konstruksi bendungan pertama akan dimulai pada awal 2023 dan diperkirakan selesai pada tahun 2027.
Listrik yang dihasilkan oleh proyek PLTA ini akan menyuplai kawasan industri hijau yang dikembangkan PT. Indonesia Strategis Industri (ISI) dan kebutuhan listrik di Pulau Kalimantan pada umumnya.
Dengan terbangunnya PLTA Kayan Cascade maka daya tarik kawasan industri hijau ini akan semakin kuat bagi seluruh kalangan industri yang peduli pada pengurangan emisi karbon.
Selain itu, dalam rangka mendukung program percepatan transisi energi dan peningkatan energi terbarukan di dalam bauran energi nasional, melalui inisitif PLN, KHE dan Sumitomo Corp berkomitmen membantu percepatan pengurangan emisi karbon sesuai komitmen Pemerintah Indonesia di dalam Paris Agreement dan COP26.
